Mark Verkennis

Mark J. Verkennis, age 72, of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at St.Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2006 at St. Otto's Chapel in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Raymond Donnay officiating. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Freeport, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006 at St. Otto's Chapel in Little Falls. Mark was born on October 10, 1934 in Elmdale Township, Minnesota to Leonard and Paula (Pogatchnik) Verkennis. Mark lived on the family farm in Elmdale Township, Morrison County, MN until moving into St. Camillus in 1984. Mark was the first resident to move into St. Camillus. During his time at St. Camillus, Mark received excellent love and care. Mark loved his sisters deeply. He had a great sense of humor and made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed tractors, animals, John Wayne and Western movies, the Minnesota Twins and Elvis. Mark is survived by his sisters, Josephine Roering and husband, Norbert, of Burtrum, MN, Margaret Naas and husband, Wally, of Eden Prairie, MN, Ruth Shodeen and husband, Ronald, of Burtrum, MN, Miryam Stallknect and husband, Gill, of Lewiston, MT and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Paula Verkennis; sister, Laura Lyons. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN.
