Marion Stangl, age 76, of Pierz, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Fr. Al Stangl and Fr. Kenneth Popp con-celebrating.Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Belle Prairie Township north of Little Falls.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd and 9-10a.m. on Saturday, October 4th all at Emblom Brenny Funeral Servicein Pierz.
There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home followed by Parish Prayers at 6:00 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 7:30 p.m.
Marion was born on June 19, 1938 to Robert & Agnes (Lutzke) Boser of Pierz.She attended country school for three years and then went to school in Lastrup and graduated from Fr. Pierz Memorial High School.Following her schooling, she worked at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls in the business office.She was united in marriage to LaVerne Plante in 1957.The couple lived in various towns in Minnesota and Wisconsin settling in Pierz.LaVerne died in 1987 and Marion moved to the Twin Cities for a short time.While living in the Cities, she married Norman Pohl and they eventually moved back to the Pierz area.Norman died in 1991 and Marion continued living in Pierz.On June 12, 1992, Marion married Marvin Stangl.The couple made their home in Pierz where Marion worked with Marvin as a bookkeeper in his sales business.Marion enjoyed card making, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, dancing, playing cards, writing, and especially enjoyed traveling by cruise ship, bus and plane around The United States with Marvin.She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was treasurer of the Pierz Senior Center and volunteered at the Pierz Villa.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Marvin of Pierz, MN; children, Ann (Steve) Kerska of Webb Lake, WI, and Debra (Charles) Poser of Pierz, MN; step-children, Cheryl (Keith) Gaspers of Bloomington, MN, Debra Stangl of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Judy (Tim) Diederichs of St. Cloud, MN, and Nancy (Tom) Stangl Taylor of Minneapolis, MN; daughter-in-law, Connie Plante of Lonsdale, MN; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Leonard (Shirley) Boser, Darnell (Vernon) Froelich, Robert (Vonna) Boser, Melvin (Doreen) Boser, and Idella (Dave) Sanders.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Agnes; two husbands, LaVerne Plante and Norman Pohl; sons, Wayne & LeRoy Plante; step-son, Louis Stangl, and sister, Delores Hackenkamp.
