Marian Seelen 78 year old resident of Lastrup, MN died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10: 30 am St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup with Rev. Johnus officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday, February 7th and from 8:30-9:30 AM on Friday, February 8th at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral chapel. Marian was born September 28, 1929 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN to Willard and Lila (Miers) Brown. She attended District #1 Country School in Morrison County, Minnesota. Marian was united in marriage to Raymond Seelen on January 21, 1947. She worked for Lyman's in Onamia, MN and Crestliner Boats in Little Falls, MN. Her real love and passion was raising her seven children. Marian was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup and the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary. Marian enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading and listening to Bluegrass Music. Marian P. Seelen is survived by her father, Willard Brown of Pierz, MN; sons, Greg Seelen (Ginny) of Hillman, MN, Don "Kirb" Seelen (Sue) of Pierz, MN, Randy Seelen (Susie) of Randall, MN; daughters, Sherry Pettey (Jim) of Randall, MN, Marilyn Okroi and special friend, Dion, of Pierz, MN, Roberta Gross (Mark) of Lastrup, MN, Pam Skiba (Rick) of Hillman, MN; sister, Shirley Hust (Buster) of Idaho; brother, Wes Brown (Clara) of Nevada; sisters-in-law, Rita Brown of Hillman, MN,Ruby Brown of Hibbing, MN and Sissy Monson of Randall, MN; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lila (Miers) Brown; husband, Ray Seelen in 1993; son, Ronald Seelen; brothers, Calvin Brown, John Brown and Clifford Brown; sisters, Marvene Monson and Irene Sullivan. Blessed Be Her Memory...May She Rest In Peace, Amen. Casket Bearers will be: Shannon Okroi, Craig Okroi, Brian Pettey, Mark Seelen, Jason Skiba, Alan Erbstoesser.
