Margaret Miller

Margaret L. Gutman was born July 17, 1918 in Mitchell County, Iowa to the late Walter and Hattie (Feldt) Gutman. In the early 1920's, Margaret's family moved to Morrison County, Minnesota. She attended country school District #100 in Parker Township and graduated from Little Falls Community High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Duane Miller on January 19, 1936 in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Cushing Township for over 56 years on the family farm. Margaret worked for a few years at Loretta's Dress Shop in Little Falls, MN. In 1995, the couple moved into the Maple Island apartments in Little Falls, MN. The couple lived for a short time at the Harmony House in Little Falls, MN until moving into the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home where she resided until her death. She was a volunteer with the Nurses Auxiliary. She attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Randall, MN and was a member of the St. Peter Ladies Aid. Margaret enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking for family and friends. Her love was spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 72 years, Duane Miller of Long Prairie, MN; children, Donald Miller and Carol Cichon of Aurora, CO, Margie Kirkholm and husband, James, of Brooklyn Park, MN, Robert Miller and Lori Johnson, of Eagan, MN, Roger Miller and wife, Diane, of Blaine, MN, Diane Fritz and husband, Harvey, of Randall, MN; siblings, Dorothy Nieman of St. Ansgar, IA, Delores Mooney of Florida, Willard Gutman and wife, Francis, of Alaska, Myron Gutman of Alaska, Elaine Little of Florida and Marilyn Lillemo and husband, Jim, of Isanti, MN. grandchildren, Terri Stapleton, Sherri Self, Jodi Russell, Juli Reiakvam, Donald Miller, Timothy Kirkholm, Lisa Melmed, Lori Miller, Mark Miller, Scott Miller, Lee Miller, Carla Fritz, Carrie Lamott and Michael Fritz; 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hattie (Feldt) Gutman; brothers, Walter and Donald Gutman and daughter-in-law, Carol Miller. In Lieu of Flowers Memorials Preferred.
