Margaret F. Hofmann

Margaret F. Hofmann, 97 year old resident of Covina, CA formerly of Little Falls, MN, died September 4, 2014. A memorial service will be held Thursday. August 27 at 2:00 P.M at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with the Rev. Audrey Peterson officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Thursday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN.



Margaret F. Bergstrom was born February 19, 1917 in Little Falls, MN to the late John and Mary (Anderson) Bergstrom. She grew up in Flensburg, MN, with her 10 siblings. Margaret attended and graduated from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1934. Following high school, Margaret lived with her mother. She later moved to Mankato, MN, where she worked as a waitress. Margaret was united in marriage to John Czech in 1939 and the couple lived in Mankato, MN. While John was in the military, Margaret moved to Little Falls. In 1944, while serving active duty, John was killed. In 1945, Margaret moved to Crosby, MN, where she owned and operated a childrens clothing store. She met Ralph Hofmann and in 1947, the couple was married in Montana. Following their marriage, Margaret and Ralph lived in rural Deerwood, MN. Ralph died in 1957. Margaret then moved to Little Falls and was employed at Morrison County Social Services until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. Margaret moved to Covina, CA in 2012 to be closer to her daughter.



Margaret is survived by her daughter, Susan Czech-Ste.Claire of Covina, CA; grandchildren, Nathan Hofmann, Nicholas Hofmann, Thomas Hofmann, Jr, Arlin Kahan; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; first husband, John Czech, second husband, Ralph Hofmann; son, Thomas Hofmann; brothers, David, Julius, Henning and Axel Bergstrom; sisters, Olive Erickson, Myrtle Masson, Eleanore Misbe, Gladys Pettyjohn, Blanche Shearing and Adelia Bergstrom.



In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN.
