Marcene Marie Stachowski

Marcene M. (Sitzman) Stachowski, age 73 of Pierz, MN, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Pierz Villa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, with Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30-10:00 A.M. at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. Christian Mothers will pray a Rosary Wednesday evening at 4:30 at the funeral chapel followed by the Knights of Columbus Office for the Dead at 6:30 P.M. and parish prayers at 7:30 P.M. As the church bells rang and the sun's rays broke through the sky, Marcene Marie (Sitzman) Stachowski left this world and went home to be with her Lord. Marcene was born August 16, 1937 in Buckman Township, Morrison County, MN to Elmer and Marie (Suess) Sitzman. She was so tiny that the story was she could fit into a shoebox. Marcene enjoyed life to its fullest. She attended grade school in Buckman and graduated from Memorial High School in Pierz in 1956. Marcene was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Lloyd Stachowski, on June 30, 1958 and made their first home in Minneapolis, MN. In 1960, Marcene and Lloyd moved to Babbitt, MN in northern Minnesota where they resided until 1987. They then moved to Pierz, MN. Marcene was the loving mother of four and her passion was her family. She will be remembered for opening her home to anyone and everyone. The pot of coffee was always on and she had a shoulder to lean on for anyone who needed it. Marcene was so loved by everyone in her community and had endless friendships that she has held onto to this day. Her family will miss her dearly. Just after her 73rd birthday, she was told she had two brain tumors but she still ventured forward. The last five months of her life she endured but the cancer won the battle. On Saturday, January 29, 2011, her life as her family knew it came to an end and her new life in heaven began. Marcene was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN and the Christian Mothers. Those left behind to honor and cherish her life include her husband of 52 years, Lloyd of Pierz, MN; children, Judy (Tom) Riley of Pierz, MN, Sue (Duane) Paulsen of St. Cloud, MN, Dan (Cathy) Stachowski of Sartell, MN and Brian Stachowski of Clear Lake, MN; siblings, Karen (John) Hellie, Tom (Christy) Sitzman and Red (Pam) Sitzman all of Pierz, MN; sister-in-law, Joanne Sitzmann of St. Joseph, MN; grandchildren, Chad (Mallory) Reichensperger of West Yellowstone, MT, Heather(Dave)Marquart of St. Joseph, MN, Clay Stachowski of West Yellowstone, MT, Jeff Riley of Pierz, MN, Jennifer Riley, Jessica Riley, and Amy Paulsen all of St. Cloud, MN; great-grandchildren, Lily Riley of Pierz, MN, Brayden Reichensperger & Kyla Reichensperger of West Yellowstone, MT and Baby Marquart, due March 6, 2011. Marcene was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer (1970) & Marie (2000) Sitzman and brothers, Gerard Sitzman in 1959 and Marvin Sitzman in 1989. Casket Bearers are her grandchildren, Chad Reichensperger, Heather Marquart, Clay Stachowski, Jeff Riley, Jessica Riley and Amy Paulsen. A very special thanks to all those who assisted and cared for Marcene during the last five months, especially the team at Coborn's Cancer Center in Sartell, Horizon Health, United Friends, Pierz Villa Staff (great job girls) and Unity Family Hospice.
