Marcella M. Schmidt

Marcella M. Schmidt, 92 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at her home in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN with Rev. Raymond Donnay officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:30-11 A.M. Saturday, October 3rd at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. Christian Mothers will pray a rosary at 5:30 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Marcella Marie Tholl was born September 30, 1916 in Watkins, MN to the late John and Katherine (Loesch) Tholl. She was united in marriage to George E. Schmidt, Sr. on October 5, 1937 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Lincoln, MN, Longview, WA, Portland, OR and Motley, MN, before moving to the farm, three miles Southwest of Randall, where they farmed for 25 years. Marcella was a homemaker along with helping with the farm. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, baking, cooking, canning, playing cards and Bingo. Marcella is a member of St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls and the St. James Christian Mothers. She also volunteered at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls for ten years. Marcella is survived by her daughters, Marianne (Pat) Barnes of Elk River, MN, Janet (Terry) Wilczek of Aurora, CO, Patricia (Leonard) Vnuk of Little Falls, MN, Diane (David) Asmus of Browerville, MN, Cynthia (Don) Vogt of Little Falls, MN and Marcella (Rick) Sobieck of Little Falls, MN; sons, Jerome (Carol) Schmidt of Little Falls, MN, George Jr. (Patricia) Schmidt of Cushing, MN, James (Lori) Schmidt of Randall, MN and Edward (Marilyn) Schmidt of Canyon, MN; brother, Ralph (Audrey) Tholl of Motley, MN, sister-in-laws, Evelyn Tholl of Motley, MN and Sr. Rebecca Schmidt of St. Cloud, MN; 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Schmidt, Sr.; parents, John and Katherine (Loesch) Tholl; brother's, Marcus, Vincent, Norbert and Arthur Tholl. Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons.
