Marcella Hourscht Waltman

Marcella "Marcie" Hourscht Waltman, age 94, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012, at North Memorial Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 5:00 p.m. Marcella "Marcie" was born on February 18, 1918 in Dodge, Nebraska the daughter of Frank & Augusta (Kovar) Tichota. She grew up in the Dell Rapids, South Dakota area. Following her schooling, she worked as a housekeeper for the Bishop in Sioux Falls. She was united in marriage to Edmund Hourscht on September 29, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dell Rapids. The couple moved to a farm in Pike Creek Township in the spring of 1952 and later parted ways. She was united in marriage to Louis Waltman on September 17, 1989. Marcie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, quilters group and volunteered in the community. She was also a member of the Little Falls V.F.W. Auxiliary and St. Gabriel's Auxiliary. Marcie took great pride in her yard and gardening. She also enjoyed bowling, cards, travels, dancing, old time music, needle work, and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Boerner of Maple Grove, MN, Ron (Alvina) Hourscht of Little Falls, MN, Lee Ann (Gary) Kilgard of Maple Grove, MN, and Lynn (Don) St. Onge of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Nellie Mae (Jim) Hamlin of Houston, TX, Wilma (Ralph) Schreurs of Garretson, SD, and Lois (Richard) Lundin of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ed Hourscht (February 4, 1994); second husband, Louis Waltman (April 22, 1993); infant son, Donald; son-in-law, Dale Boerner; siblings, Marvin (Helen) Tichota and Dorothy (Herb) Heinemann.
