Mabel Houle

Mabel Houle, 93 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Monday, October 21 at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating.

The burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service and from 9:00-10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mabel M. Houle was born December 31, 1919 in St. Mathias, MN to the late David and Rose (Beauchaine) Gaboury. She grew up in the St. Mathias, MN area and attended country school. Upon completing her schooling, Mabel worked as a waitress at the Winnipeg Buffet in Brainerd, MN, for three years.In the spring of 1941, she moved to California and was employed as a riveter for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA until the spring of 1945.Mabel was united in marriage to Jack B. Houle on November 20, 1945 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN. They had two children a son, Howard and a daughter, Jacqueline. Mabel spent her married life as a homemaker with loving care for her children. She also helped her husband, Jack at the family business, The Little Falls Electric Co. Mabel was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and was a past member of the Christian Mothers.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Howard Houle of Sarasota, FL and his companion, Patricia Boll of Cushing, MN; granddaughter, Tracie (Scott) Atkinson of Little Falls, MN and great-grandsons, Levi, Logan and Landon Atkinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rose Gaboury; husband, Jack B. Houle; daughter, Jacqueline Dreiling in 1975; brothers, Leo, Jeddy, Walley and Philip Gaboury and a sister, Stella Seeley.
