Lucille M. Langer

Lucille "Lou" M. Langer, age 95, of Royalton, MN, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN with Rev. Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 all at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the church followed by parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. Lucille "Lou" Mae Madigan was born on May 23, 1915 in Graettinger, Iowa to the late Frank & Hattie (Weber) Madigan. As a child, she moved with her family to St. Paul, MN. At the age of 10, Lou's mother died and her father sent her to live with her Uncle and Aunt in Pierz. She was united in marriage to Alex John Langer on September 23, 1936 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. The couple lived in Flensburg and in 1945 they moved to Royalton where she lived until moving to St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Along with being a housewife, Lucille worked as a cook at Don's Cafe in Royalton and Country Inn in Rice. Lou enjoyed Minnesota Twins baseball, cooking and baking for her family, friends and neighbors. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton and the Christian Mothers. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol (Bill) Hodorff of Hastings, MN; Patricia (Paul) Witucki of Detroit Lakes, MN; Judy (Dennis) Psick of Amery, WI, Alex (Linda) Langer of Rice, MN and Jim (Lynda) Langer of Ramsey, MN; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lucille Langer of Pierz, MN, Marie Weiss of Minneapolis, MN, Margaret Madigan of Cottage Grove, MN, and Fran Sommo of Lakeville, MN. Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Hattie (Weber) Madigan, husband, Alex J. Langer (Sept. 1975); daughter, Debbie Langer (July 1972); brothers, Morris, Alfred, Ken, Francis and Warren Madigan and an infant sister. Arrangements are with Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN.
