Lucille Lucy Katherine Barten Held, 71 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died unexpectedly Monday, July 29 at her home in Little Falls, MN. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 1 at 1:00 P.M. at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Kenneth Brenny officiating. Friends may gather from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. on Thursday. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN at 3:00 P.M.


Lucille Katherine Held was born September 6, 1941 to Henry and Leona Barten in Cohasset, MN. She attended school in Cohasset, MN and Grand Rapids, MN, graduating from Grand Rapids High School in 1959.Lucy was united in marriage to Donald L. Held on June 27, 1966.They spent their early married years in various towns, moving to Pierz, MN in the 1970s.She worked for DR. R.J. Stein, Pierz Villa and helped manage Kamnic Lane Apartments for over 20 years.She moved to Little Falls in 2010.She also was a foster grandparent at the Pierz Elementary School for the last six years. Her best friends were her husband and siblings. She dedicated her life to taking care of her loved ones, especially her husband and grandsons. Her hobbies were shopping, cooking, baking, crocheting, counted cross stitch and spending time with her family.


Forever cherishing her memory will be her sisters, Frances Barten and Leona Mae Barten of Cohasset, MN; nephew, Michael, Sr. (Julie) Barten of Little Falls, MN and their children, Michael Jr. (Stephanie) Barten of Little Falls, MN, John Robert Wadena of McGregor, MN, Michelle (Raymond) Bentley of Cohasset, MN; niece, Michelle (Raymond) Bentley and their children, Amber and Raeann Green, of Cohasset, MN.She had many other nieces and nephews, she held in her heart.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Leona Barten; husband, Donald L. Held; brother, Leroy Barten; sister, Esther (Raymond) Green and her grandson, August Gus Henry Barten.
