Louise M. Simon, age 85, of Buckman, MN, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 2, 2010 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN, with Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN with a Christian Mother's and St. Michael's Society Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by parish prayers at 6:30 P.M. and Knights of Columbus office of the dead at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home on Sunday. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Louise Marcella Zormeier was born on May 19, 1925 on a farm east of Little Rock in Buckman Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of John & Johanna (Muehlbauer) Zormeier. She was united in marriage to Joseph Simon on September 8, 1943 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman. Together they farmed for 40 years in the Buckman area where they raised their family. In 1981, they retired and moved into Buckman. Following Joseph's death on March 13, 2002, Louise continued living in Buckman until June, 2010 when she became a resident of the Pierz Villa. Louise enjoyed playing cards, doing word finds, watching the MN Twins and other sports, quilting, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the St. Michael's Society and Catholic Aid. Her family will remember her as a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her faithful heritage will be cherished by her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary Dircks of Buckman, MN, Elaine (Don) Wolf of Spring Lake Park, MN, Linda Simon of St. Cloud, MN, Janell (Ron) Reggin of Columbia Heights, MN, and Deborah (Rod) Engel of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Marie Czech of Pierz, MN; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Simon; parents, John & Johanna (Muehlbauer) Zormeier; granddaughter, Lisa (Dircks) Cheney; son-in-law, Butch Dircks and siblings, Barbara Tretter, Clara Dubbin, Mathilda Rothstein, Margaret Gerwing, George Zormeier, Joseph Zormeier and Matt Zormeier.
