Louis Wimer, age 77 of Fort Ripley, MN, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and Monday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Church. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:30 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral chapel. Louis S. Wimer was born May 23, 1933 in Cloverton, MN. As a young boy, he grew up in Webster, WI. Following his schooling, Louis worked on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Patricia Baribeau in October of 1951, in Stillwater, MN. Louis and Patricia lived in Bayport, MN. Louis worked at Lampert Lumber in Stillwater, MN. The couple had five children. Patricia died in 1963. Following Patricia's death, Louis lived in various cities. He met Margaret Graham and three years later, the couple was married on December 17, 1966, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Blaine, MN. Louis & Margaret moved to Tucson, AZ where he worked as a store manager for 7 Eleven Stores. They later moved back to Minnesota. The couple had four children. Louis & Margaret moved to Texas where he worked for Safeway Stores and as a subcontractor in clean-up for several building contractors. They then moved to Minneapolis where he worked for Dairy Home Stores. Louis and Margaret later moved to Little Falls where he owned and operated the Wimer Appliance Store until his retirement in 1988. In 1994, the couple moved to Fort Ripley where Louis resided until his death. Louis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. He enjoyed working, keeping up his manicured lawn and sleeping in his recliner. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Louis is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Pam Phelps & significant other, Jim Cichon, of Little Falls, MN, Bert Wimer & fiance, Carmella Kujawa, of Brainerd, MN, Elizabeth (Jeff) Kasper of Long Prairie, MN, Dominic (Gail) Wimer of Royalton, MN; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Wimer & Ray (Delores) Wimer, all of Sheldon, WI and a sister, Cecile Erickson of Longview, TX. He was preceded in death by his children, Jerome, Jeannie, Julie, Audrey & David Wimer; parents, Cecil & Gladys Wimer; grand-daughter, Jennifer Phelps and brothers, Roy and Bobby Wimer.
