Lorraine Schlichting

Lorraine Schlichting, age 90, of Royalton, MN, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Glenn Krystosek officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. Sunday, March 20th and 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 21st all at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by a parish prayer service at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Lorraine O. Burggraff was born on October 3, 1920 in Royalton, MN the daughter of Edward & Theresa (Jansky) Burggraff, Sr. She grew up on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Cyril P. Schlichting on November 24, 1942 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. Lorraine worked as a cook in the Royalton school for a number of years. The couple lived on their farm until 1989 when they moved to Little Falls. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. Lorraine was also a member of the Christian Mothers at both churches and also volunteered at the Senior Center in Little Falls. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Audrey Borash of Minnetonka, Marvin (Irene) of Royalton, Alice (Larry) Vilinski of Little Falls, Harvey (Rose) of Little Falls and Leon of Breckenridge; siblings, Rita Mugg of Sauk Rapids, Edward (Alice) Burggraff, Jr. of Little Falls, Raymond Burggraff of Royalton, Alma (Robert) Popp of Rice and Elaine (Benno) Gall of St. Cloud; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Leona Burggraff Borg of Little Falls and Theresa Burggraff of Little Falls. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cyril; grandson, Jason Schlichting and brothers, Ralph, Arnold (Virginia), Ernest; sister-in-law, Bernadine Burggraff and brother-in-law, Alcuin Mugg.
