Lorraine Kuffel, age 80, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, with Father Nick Landsberger officiating. Friends may call from 10:30a.m. a" 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) in Little Falls. Interment will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Lorraine was born on October 16, 1926 in Little Falls, Minnesota to the late John & Julia (Bzdok) Knopik. She grew up in Little Falls and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1944. She then moved to the Twin Cities and worked at Philips Petroleum and eventually returned to Little Falls where she worked as the Assistant Superintendent of Morrison County Schools. She was united in marriage to Edward "Ed" Kuffel on April 22, 1952 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple moved to Pasco, Washington where Lorraine worked for General Electric at the Hanford Atomic Energy Commission, which at the time was a top secret nuclear site. The couple returned to Little Falls in 1954 and Lorraine stayed at home to raise her children. When the children were all in school, Lorraine began working for Attorney Mac Braggans and later became the Probate Registrar for Morrison County working there until her retirement in 1992. Lorraine was the type of person to remain active, so she decided to return to work and took a position at Subway where she worked until June 2006. Lorraine loved life. She enjoyed traveling, bowling on a league for many years, playing bingo, shopping with her daughters, picking morel and button mushrooms with her son, cooking for the family on holidays, flower gardening, her cardinals and hummingbirds, keeping her polish ancestry alive by speaking in polish with her sisters, volunteering at church whenever needed and in the church kitchen serving many funeral lunches. Her faith was very important to her. Family came first for Lorraine, she always put everyone else before herself. Lorraine was a beautiful mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. Blessed for having shared her life are her children, Tara Anne (Mark) Selinski of Little Falls, Patrick Kuffel of Little Falls and Mary Jean (James) Noyes of St. Cloud; siblings, Eleanore Eidenshink of Little Falls, Madonna Ebensteiner of Forest Lake, MN and Gerald (Joan) Knopik of Royalton; 3 grandchildren, Lee, Luke and Logan Selinski; 1 great-granddaughter, Kaylee Selinski and sister-in-law, Leone Knopik of Little Falls. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, John & Julia (Bzdok) Knopik; husband, Edward "Ed" Kuffel (December 4, 2002); grandson, Lincoln Selinski (1990); brother, Alvin Knopik and brothers-in-law, Gerald Ebensteiner and Herman Eidenshink. Pallbearers are Patrick Kuffel, James Noyes, Mark Selinski, Lee Selinski, Luke Selinski and Logan Selinski.
