Loretta M. Schneider, 82 year old resident of Sobieski, MN, died Tuesday, December 2 at St. Ottos Care Centre in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN, with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday at the church in Sobieski, MN.The Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by a parish prayer at 6:00 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Loretta Mary (Lund) Schneider was born on the family farm in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota on February 9, 1932 to the late Christ N. and Mary M. (Oldakowski) Lund.She attended school in District # 9 through the eighth grade. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1949.She graduated from teachers training and taught school in District #45. She also worked for Honeywell in Minneapolis for several years. Loretta was united in marriage to Herbert Schneider on September 5, 1953 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. They raised 14 children on the Schneider farm near Sobieski. Loretta enjoyed bird watching, gardening, loved flowers, playing bingo, watching Jeopardy, the Lawrence Welk show and Westerns, listening to old tyme music, as well as spending time with her family who all know her words of wisdom The more you have the more you have to take care of.As a fire warden for over 35 years, she wrote many fire permits for surrounding neighbors. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieksi, Christian Mothers and the Mothers Club.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Herb of Sobieski; children, Dave Schneider of Little Falls, Judy (Dan) Saewert of Burnsville, Steve Schneider of Little Falls, Joe Schneider of Little Falls, Janice Urban of Little Falls,Tom (Charlotte) Schneider of Little Falls,John (Renae) Schneider of Little Falls, Ray Schneider of Big Lake, Mary (Butch) Sobania of Grand Rapids,Katie (Joel) Bodin of Chanhassen, Peggy (Ed) Heying of Rice, Bob Schneider of Little Falls, Mike (Michelle LeBeau)Schneider of Roseville and Jenny (Brian) Plath of Hutchinson; 24 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Leona (John) Bursey; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Lund and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Mary Lund; brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Leonard, Jerome and Dan; sisters, Jeane Bursey, Katherine Kujacznski and infant sisters, Frances and Marie Lund.

Casket Bearers will be: Randy Schneider, Eric Saewert, Justin Sobania, Mark Urban, Emily Bodin, Carina Schneider, Samantha Richard.
