Lois M. Ericson

Lois M. Ericson, age 86, of Upsala, MN, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. A Memorial Celebration will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Community Covenant Church in Upsala with Rev. Craig Johnson officiating. Private interment will be in the Community Covenant Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2008 at Community Covenant Church in Upsala. Lois Martha Herbold was born on January 6, 1922 in Anoka, Minnesota to the late George & Esther (Meckel) Herbold. She grew up in Anoka where she attended school, graduating from Anoka High School. She was united in marriage to Lester Ericson on May 24, 1941 at First Baptist Church in Anoka. The couple lived in Robbinsdale until their retirement when they moved to Upsala. Lois was a homemaker extraordinaire with the gift of hospitality. In her lifetime she sewed thousands of garments, hundreds of teddy bears, and crocheted countless doilies. She led Bible studies for many years and was a fervent prayer warrior. Lois was grounded in faith, and approached life with humor and gusto. She adored babies, and was thrilled to know there are two more great-grand babies on the way. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Carole (Jim) Daggett of Duncanville, TX, Jane (Dick) Schirmacher of Robbinsdale, MN, and Molly (Ken) Abrahamson of Upsala, MN; siblings, Eunice Herbold of Anoka, MN, Priscilla (Jack) Rainbow of Pomona, CA, David (Marilyn) Herbold of Coon Rapids, MN, and Bonnie (Jim) Rainbow of Anoka, MN; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her, husband, Lester Ericson; son, David Ericson; siblings, Ruth Moore, Jonathan Herbold, Paul Herbold and Nate Herbold.
