Lillian "Lucky" J. Swaser, age 88, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at Harmony House of Pierz, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. Lillian "Lucky" was born on January 29, 1922, in Spring Valley, Minnesota to the late Oscar & Cora (Sween) Lawrence. She grew up in the Spring Valley area where she attended country school. She was united in marriage to Leo Swaser on January 30, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. When Leo went to war, she continued living in the Spring Valley area until after the war. The couple then lived in Texas until Leo completed his military duties. They eventually moved to a farm in Platte Township, Morrison County, Minnesota where they farmed for many years. Lucky also worked as a seamstress at Hickerson Garment Factory in Brainerd, Munsingwear in Little Falls and Larson Boats in Little Falls. Lucky enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and going to Casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Community Church of Platte Township, the DAV Ladies Auxiliary in Little Falls and was a Fire Warden for 24 years. In her younger years, she would join her husband, Leo of the Swaser Ramblers where she would sing and yodel. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Judy Boser of Pierz, MN; Nadine "DeDe" (Ron) Litke of Pierz, MN and Lonny (Debbie) Swaser of Pierz, MN; grandchildren, Rocky (Laurie) Boser of Pierz, Rhonda (Cory) Litke of Cushing, Melissa (Chet) Gahler of Pierz, Chad Swaser of Pierz, Cassie (Dean) Boser of Pierz and Eric Swaser of Pierz and seven great-grandchildren, Tristan and Emma Litke, Tyler, Brandon and Evan Boser and Mason and Maya Gahler; siblings, Gene Hayes of Brainerd, Esther Knopik of Pierz, Eleanor Young of Pierz and Dorine (Mel) Boser of Brainerd. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Swaser (January 27, 2000) and siblings, Dorothy Ernst and Ken Hayes.
