Levi E. Seitz, 78 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Memorial Service will be 11 am Friday, August 29, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillman, MN. with Pastor Cathie Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church in Hillman. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillman American Legion Post 602. Levi E. Seitz was born October 16, 1929 in Bemidji, MN to the late Joe and Ella (Kurtti) Seitz. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 24, 1946 and was honorably discharged on March 18, 1948. Levi received the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was united in marriage to Adeline Smuda on July 19, 1999 in Little Falls, MN. They resided in Pierz, MN. Levi was an over the road truck driver for Napco. He enjoyed wood carving, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Levi had a great sense of humor until the time of his death. He was a member of the Garrison VFW Post 1816 and the Hillman American Legion Post 602. Levi is survived by his wife, Addie Seitz of Pierz, MN; step children, Wayne (Jennifer) Smuda of Pierz, MN, Daniel (Mary) Smuda of International Falls, MN, John Smuda of International Falls, MN, Janice (Tom Kowalczyk) Smuda of Pierz, MN, Debbie (Doug Williams) Smuda of Pierz, MN; seven sisters; two brothers; many nieces and nephews and seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
