LeRoy Waninger

LeRoy J. Waninger, 79 year old resident of Pierz, MN died Monday, September 20 at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 24, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. and from 8:30-10:15 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Parish Prayers will be said at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. LeRoy J. Waninger was born June 23, 1931, Granite Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Frank and Gesela (Voelker) Waninger. He was united in marriage to Karolyn Heigl on September 7, 1963 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. LeRoy lived and farmed all his life in Platte Township, Minnesota. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN. LeRoy enjoyed playing cards especially whist and smear, reading the newspaper, going for rides, work horses, deer hunting and spending time with his grandson, Ben. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karolyn Waninger, of Pierz, MN; children, Michelle Froelich and husband, Donald, of Pierz, MN, Clyde Waninger and wife, Kathy, of St. Cloud, MN; grandson, Ben Froelich of Pierz, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
