LeRoy A. Mead

LeRoy Mead, age 79, of Sartell, MN, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN. Private interment will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Royalton. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, August 29, 2011 and 9:30-10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 all at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN. LeRoy Arthur Mead was born on October 25, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Harley & Johanna (Johnson) Mead, Jr. He grew up in Minneapolis where he attended school. He was united in marriage to Yvonne Antil on March 29, 1952. The couple made their home in Minneapolis where they lived until 1971 when they moved to Rice, MN. LeRoy worked for DeZuriks in Sartell, MN until his retirement. The couple later moved to Sartell where he resided at the time of his death. LeRoy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, collecting knives and guns and watching football, NASCAR and cartoons with his great-grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Yvonne Mead of Sartell, MN; children, Rick (Catherine) Mead of Buckman, MN, David Mead of Sleepy Eye, MN, Karen (Steve) Yamry of St. Cloud, MN and Gary (Sandy) Mead of Morris, MN; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.
