Leonard Andrew Psick, 87 year old resident of Royalton, MN died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN following a courageous battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 7, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Bowlus, MN. Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the church. There will be a Rosary at 4:30 Sunday at the funeral home followed by Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 6:00 P.M. Leonard Andrew Psick was born November 6, 1923 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Alex and Sophie (Rudolph) Psick. He grew up in Swan River Township and attended school there. Leonard met Gladys (Schwientek) and the couple was united in marriage on June 25, 1953 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN. The couple took over the Psick family farm and continued farming up until Leonard's diagnosis with cancer in September, 2010. Leonard and Gladys were members of Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie, MN, where he was an active member of the choir. Leonard was also a member of the Knight's of Columbus, St. Joseph's Society, Royalton Sportsman Club and District #1180 School Board. He enjoyed farming, deer hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and had previously been active in a bowling league. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys Psick of Royalton, MN; children, Jim Psick of Royalton, MN, Mary Jane (Steve) Krueger of Royalton, MN, Janice (Dennis) Zapzalka of Little Falls, MN, Doris (Bob) Kummet of Baxter, MN and Rose Ann Psick of Royalton, MN; grandchildren, Amy Klepsa of Santa Ana, CA, Tina Krueger (Scott Kludt) of Rice, MN, Tracy Zapzalka (Mark Stephanie)of St. Cloud, MN, Laura Zapzalka of Avon, MN, Jason Zapzalka (Deanna Marshik) of Royalton, MN, Megan (Rob) Mueller of Brainerd, MN; great-grandchild, Ridley; brother, Ben (Helen) Psick; sister, Martha (Ambrose) Gosiak all of Little Falls, MN; brother-in-law, George Waletzko of St. Cloud, MN and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his, parents; brother, Frank; George (Agnes) Psick; sister, Clara (Ed) Lingert; sister-in-law, Elsie Waletzko.
