Leonard A. Dupre

Leonard A. Dupre, Sr., 93 year old resident of Royalton, MN, died Thursday, March 7 at the St. Benedict Center in St. Cloud, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 11 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in White Bear Lake, MN. Burial will be in St. Genevieve Cemetery in Centerville, MN. A visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 P.M. on Sunday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN. Friends may also gather from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M at St. Mary on the Lake on Monday. Christian Mother's will pray at 3:30 P.M. followed by the Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. Leonard A. Dupre was born July 5, 1919 in Centerville, MN to the late Alice Dupre. Leonard grew up and attended school in Forest Lake, MN. Leonard was united in marriage to Irene Przezdziecki on May 3, 1941 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Centerville, MN. The family resided in Afton, MN and White Bear Lake, MN. He worked for Foley Brothers Construction in St. Paul for over 20 years. Leonard and Irene moved to Royalton, MN, in 1973 and farmed for 28 years. Leonard and Irene loved to spend their winters in McAllen, Texas. Leonard enjoyed playing pool, music, singing and the electric guitar. He played in the following bands, Pap's Merrymakers, Bob's Golden Tones and Dale Dahmen and the Polka Beats. Music was a big part of the families life. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, Knights of Columbus and was active with the Little Falls Senior Center. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Dupre of Royalton, MN, Leonard Jr. (Wendy) Dupre of Dellwood, MN, Duane Dupre (Patti Gill) of White Bear Lake, MN, Marvin (Becky) Dupre of Willmar, MN, Damian (Nanci) Dupre of Royalton, MN, Michael Dupre of Shoreview, MN, Paul Dupre of Royalton, MN; daughters, Pat (Todd) Nenn of White Bear Lake, MN, Helen (Robert) Paschke of South St. Paul, MN; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Dupre; wife, Irene Dupre on February 3, 2002; son, Melvin Dupre; daughter, Priscilla Kroll; siblings, Dolores, Robert and Melvin. Casket Bearers will be: Ryan Dupre, Brian Kroll, Justin Paschke, Nicholas Dupre, Jason Kroll, Heather Malone, Christine Herman, Kelly Fritze.
