Lawrence "Larry" Radziej, 71 year old resident of Royalton, MN died Sunday at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 22 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. with Rev. Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Royalton, MN. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN and from 8:30-10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday followed by the Military Rites will be conducted by the Royalton American Legion Post # 137 at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Lawrence "Larry" Radziej was born May 6, 1939 in Santiago, Minnesota to the late John and Julia (Waletski) Radziej. The family moved to Royalton, MN where Larry graduated with the class of 1957. On March 20, 1963 Lawrence was drafted into the United States Army serving his country until March 19, 1965. He returned to Royalton, MN and owned and operated the Log Bar in Royalton, MN from 1965 until 1969. In 1969, he met Mary Jane Macey and the couple was married on September 11, 1971 at St. Alexious Catholic Church in West Union, MN. The couple resided in Royalton, MN where they owned and operated Larry's Grocery from 1976 until 2000. Larry was an avid sports fan especially the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. He was a season ticket holder for several years for the Minnesota Vikings. Larry loved reading, watching the history channel, playing practical jokes, loved to laugh and had a contagious smile. He was a member of the Royalton American Legion Post #137, Royalton Fire Department and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Jane Radziej of Royalton, MN; children, Sam Radziej of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Chad Radziej of Royalton, MN, Tessa Radziej of Charlotte, N.C. and Mindy Radziej of Hinckley, MN; siblings, Earl (Marian) Radziej, Tom (Eileen) Radziej all of Minnetonka, MN, Betty (Tom) Slomkoski of Midland, MI and Joyce (Don) Mester of Royalton, MN; grandson, Chase Radziej of,Charlotte, N.C.; God Children, Ricky McEwen, Debbie Blair, Jan Hoggard, Steven Merten, Sheryl Arseneau He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Radziej; brothers, Gerald Radziej, Leo Radziej, Jim Radziej, Arnold Radziej; sisters, Irene Stoltz, Dorothy McEwen and Angeline Baker.
