Lawrence Pella

Lawrence Pella 94 year old resident of Pierz, MN formerly of Hillman, MN died Wednesday, December 9 at the Pierz Villa. Christian Burial services will be held Saturday, December 12 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman, MN with Father Jerry Schik officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may gather from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday at the church. Lawrence Pella was born February 3, 1915 in Pierz, MN to the late Ignatius and Magdelana (Przybilla) Pella. He was united in marriage to Frances Lesniak on January 20, 1941. The couple farmed briefly in Lastrup, MN and then moved to the Hillman area where they farmed until their retirement. Lawrence attended St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman, MN. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and watching the Twins and Vikings. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Eileen Pella of Little Falls, MN, Elmer Pella of Garrison, MN and Ava Virnig and husband, John, of Hillman, MN; grandchildren, Sue Hoheisel, Lynda Pella, Kathy Tetrick, Michelle Kiheri, Jennifer Pella, Daniel Pella, Scott Virnig, Mary Taylor, Robert Virnig; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances; sons, Adam and Leon Pella, grandson, Michael Pella; great-grandson, Zackary Taylor and 21 siblings.
