Lawrence "Larry" Yasgar

Lawrence Larry Yasgar, 71 year old resident of Huron, South Dakota, formerly of Sobieski, MN, died on April 30, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday May 3, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. Father Tim Wenzel will be officiating. The burial will take place at the St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery.

Larry Yasgar was born on August 18, 1942 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Frederick and Catherine (Rossa) Yasgar. Larry attended public school and graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1960. After, high school, he went to work for Armor Meat Packing in Huron, SD. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed playing cards, Pitch being one of his favorite games. He also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and working on his cars, especially his Classic Trans Am.

Larry is survived by son Dean Yasgar and friend, Jodi DeVries of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers Yub Yasgar of Sartell, MN, Roger Yasgar of Champlain, MN, Bernard (Sasha) Yasgar of Moorhead, MN; sisters Jane Spiess of Ellsworth, WI, Tina (Gerard) Frank of Randall, MN, Marie Frank of Sobieski, MN, grandchildren Kyle and Ricki Yasgar.

Larry was preceded in death by parents Frederick and Catherine Yasgar; brother, David Yasgar and a brother-in-law, Aloysius Al Frank.
