Lawrence "Larry" Killeaney

Lawrence Larry Killeaney, 78 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Monday, December 8 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church Belle Prairie, MN, with Father Jeremy Ploof officiating.A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 12 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service and from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 13 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A parish prayer will be said at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Friday evening. The military rites will be conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post #46.

Lawrence Larry Killeaney was born March 1, 1936 in Randall, Minnesota to the late William and Gertrude (Oppold) Killeaney. He grew up in the Randall area and attended Country School in Parker Township for a few years and then transferred to Little Falls Community Schools.He joined the United States Marine Corps on October 20, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN. He was honorably discharged on October 19, 1957 in Palms, California. He was united in marriage to Ardell (Bednarek) Dembouski in Brainerd, MN in 1990.The couple made their home in Green Prairie Township. Larry worked as an over - the - road driver. He drove for Crestliner Boats, Anderson Trucking, Kaiser Trucking, Bednarek Trucking, Genmar and most recently Pierzinski Trucking.He drove truck from 1954 and was still currently driving for Pierzinski Trucking. Larry enjoyed cutting wood, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, farming and tending to his vegetable garden.Larry would tie out his trusted guard dog, Tony the English Setter, to watch and protect his garden from the deer, squirrels and gophers.He enjoyed entertaining his friends and family to Happy Hour in his garage. Larry loved to be with people and could always strike up a conversation. Like his father and grandfather before him, he was of sturdy stock, a true pioneer. You were never a stranger long.Larry was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #46.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ardell Killeaney of Little Falls, MN; sons, Brian (Leasa) Killeaney of Credit River Township, MN; step-sons, Doug (Mary) Bednarek of Little Falls, MN and Dennis Bednarek of Little Falls, MN; sister, Irene (Dennis) Prozinski of Green Prairie Township, MN; first wife, Jeanette Killeaney of Little Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Jill Killeaney of Fort Ripley, MN; grandchildren, Patrick Killeaney, Bob Killeaney, Trevor Killeaney, Hannah Bednarek and Michael Bednarek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude Killeaney; son, Michael Killeaney; grandson, Shawn Killeaney; brother, Robert Killeaney, sister, Wynona Prozinski and an infant sister, Lila Mae Killeaney.

The casket bearers will be: Patrick Killeaney, Bob Killeaney, Trevor Killeaney, Hannah Bednarek and Michael Bednarek.

Honorary Casket Bearer will be: Tony Larrys English Setter.
