Lawrence Larry Hollermann, 81 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Sunday, August 18 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 21 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Joseph Herzing assisted by Deacon Craig Korver. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20 from 4:30-8:30 P.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Lawrence Larry Hollermann was born November 7, 1931 in Melrose, MN to the late Herman and Mary (Mehr) Hollermann.He was raised in Melrose, MN, with his ten siblings.He attended school in Melrose, MN and graduated with the class of 1949. Larry worked at Hollermann Manufacturing for a few years after high school.Lawrence was united in marriage to Annella Koopmeiners on June 7, 1955 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose, MN. The couple resided in Minneapolis, MN, where Larry attended Brown Institute. He received a diploma in electronics and worked for Avenco Engineering in New Hope for several years.The couple moved to Little Falls, MN in 1970, where they owned and operated the Quick and Clean Laundromat until 1978.Larry and Nellie purchased Lik-Nu Cleaners 1976 and owned the cleaners until retiring in 1995.
Larry enjoyed woodworking, traveling, fishing, going to the cabin, reading Louis Lamour books, watching old movies, card playing especially Skat with his brothers-in-law, playing the concertina and drums and dancing with Nellie. Lawrence was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Little Falls, MN, and was active with Knights of Columbus and was a 4th Degree Knight. He was a Mass Server for funerals for 15 years. Larry and Nellie took care of votive candles for 20 years at the parish.Larry attended Central Minnesota TEC and had a very strong faith.Larry made a faith filled choice for the end of his life, which was consistent with the rest of his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Annella Nellie Hollermann of Little Falls, MN; children, Joan (Jim) Gondringer of Albany, MN, Patricia (Daniel) Henning of St. Cloud, MN, Marion (LeRoy) Gondringer of Albany, MN, Andrew (Cheryl) Hollermann of Albany, MN, Olivia (Gary) Zimmer of Laona, WI, Diane (Deacon Craig) Korver of Little Falls, MN, Dennis (Patricia) Hollermann of Foley, MN and William (Kathleen) Hollermann of Little Falls, MN; 24 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Norbert, Alfred, Aloysius, Edwin, Edward, Joseph, John and Bernard and a sister, Alvina Wielenberg.
