Lawrence Lashinski, 88 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Wednesday, April 21, with his family by his side at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 26 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN at 3:00 P.M.with Rev. Leo Moenkedick officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in North Prairie, MN. Friends may gather from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN on Sunday and from 1:00-2:45 P.M. on Monday at the church. The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Bowlus American Legion Post #642. Lawrence Lashinski was born May 25, 1921 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Frank and Mary (Ringwelski) Leshinski. He grew up in the Swan River area and attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School in Sobieski, MN. After completing his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Army on August 17, 1942. He served his Country proudly until his honorable discharge on December 14, 1945. He was united in marriage to Esther Bartkowitz at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on September 11, 1944. The couple made their home in Delano, MN until Lawrence was discharged from the military. In 1951, they purchased a farm in Swan River Township, Morrison County which they farmed for several years. Esther died on July 2, 1973. Lawrence continued living on the farm after Esther's death raising the couple's children. Lawrence was united in marriage to Frances Yasgar on August 14, 1976. Lawrence resided on the farm until moving into St. Otto's Care Center in July of 2008, where he resided until his death. Lawrence was a faithful member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. He enjoyed playing cards especially Smear. He was an avid dancer and enjoyed spending time with his children and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances Lashinski of Little Falls, MN; children, Alvina (Ron) Hourscht of Little Falls, MN, Joan (Gene) Kapsner of Cambridge, WI, Bernard (Lyann) Lashinski of Little Falls, MN, Duane (Diane) Lashinski of Bowlus, MN Delmar (Mary) Lashinski of Fairbanks, AK, Nettie (Bob) Okroi of Little Falls, MN and Renee (Emil) Oleson of Fairbanks, AK; step-children, Mary Yasgar of Sobieski, MN, Ed Yasgar of Little Falls, MN, Rita (Doug) LeMieur of Sobieski, MN, Mike (Carmen)Yasgar of Bowlus, MN, Ronnie (Sue) Yasgar of Flensburg, MN; siblings, George (Betty) Lashinski of Little Falls, MN and Rita (Emil) Stiller of Swanville, MN; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary (Ringwelski) Leshinski; His first wife, Esther Lashinski; siblings, Hank Lashinski, Edward Lashinski, Leonard Lashinski and two infant sisters, Alvina and Joan Lashinski.
