Kenneth V. Starr, 81 year old resident of Buckman Township, Royalton, MN, died Sunday, May 17 at his home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 21 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating. The burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN at 1:00 P.M. Thursday.A visitation will be held Wednesday, May, 20 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A. M. all at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. The military rites will be conducted by the Gillman VFW and the Hillman American Legion

Kenneth Virgil Starr was born January 10, 1934 in Buckman Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Phillip and Mary (Altenhofen) Starr. He attended District #115 Country School. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 21, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN and served his country until his honorable discharge on June 20, 1956.Kenneth worked for AC Hitchcock Foundry in Minneapolis, MN for a few years. He then went to work at the Grain Belt Brewery in Minneapolis, MN for 17 years. Ken was united in marriage to Florence Block in 1974 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN.The couple made their home in Buckman Township, where they farmed for several years.
Kenneth enjoyed deer hunting, playing cards especially 500, dark house spearing and raising sheep. He was a member of the Gillman VFW Post #1158 and the Hillman American Legion Post #602.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Shirley Starr of New Brighton, MN; step-children, Herman Wisneski of Ft. Ripley, MN, Darlene (Duane) Albrecht of Rice, MN and Yvonne Weitgenant and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence; brothers, Melvin Starr, Calvin Starr, Norman Starr, Lloyd Starr, Duane Starr, Gerald Starr and a step-son, Richard Wisneski.

The casket bearers will be Bob Starr, Leander Starr, David Starr, Herman Wisneski, Herman Hoheisel, Mark Starr, Tim Wimmer, Treve Sauer.
