Kenneth Nelson

Kenneth "Ken" Nelson, 84 year old resident of Little Falls, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, September 19 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 P.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. A visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM on Saturday, October 5 at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service.

Kenneth Nelson was born on December 28, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Gerda (Anderson) Nelson at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. Kenneth grew up in South Minneapolis, where he attended and graduated from South High School. He served his Country in the United States Army for two years. After high school Ken attended the University of Minnesota and received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in French. Ken taught for one year at Spring Valley high school in the math department. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Judith "Judy" Johnson in July of 1965. The couple made their home in Bloomington for 50 years. Ken worked for Lockheed Martin for 36 years as a computer programmer. Ken volunteered at the Minneapolis VA Hospital, Ken enjoyed, golfing, fishing, volleyball, reading, shopping at Menards, camping with his family, downhill skiing in Montana and Colorado, trips to Hawaii and Mexico with his wife, Judy. The couple enjoyed watching and cheering for Minnesota sports teams. Ken was a member of the VIP club with Lockheed Martin, golfing in various leagues.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Judy Nelson of 59 years, children, Brian (Susie) and their children, Leo and Annie, Heather (Steve) Pint and their children, Taylor and Ava and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Alvar Anderson.
