Kenneth Tenney, 53 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Monday, July 20 at his home in Little Falls, MN. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 23 at 11:00 A.M. at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the Main Gates with Rev. Henry Hank French officiating. The burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22 from 4:00-8:00 P.M at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:30-11:00 A.M. on Thursday the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the main gates.
Kenneth Tenney was born December 27, 1961 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to Kenneth and Myrtle (Kilmer) Tenney. He grew up and attended High School in Hutchinson, MN graduating in 1980. Ken received an Accounting Degree from the Hutchinson Area Vocational Technical Institute in 1982. He enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard on April 2, 1979. He was united in marriage to Cindy Lou Draeger on June 4, 1983 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls, MN, where they have resided for the past 32 years. Kenneth started working at Camp Ripley in January 1983 and was currently a Staff Accountant at the USPFO Camp Ripley. He was a Master Sergeant serving in various positions of increased responsibilities for over 36 years. Ken enjoyed gardening, canning salsa, jelly and pickles, fishing, board games, card games and going for walks around town with the love of his life, Cindy. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America serving as a Scout Master with Troop #51 in Little Falls, MN. Kenneth was a member of First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN and the American Legion Post #46.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy Tenney of Little Falls, MN; children, Aaron Tenney of Kearney, NE and Ashley (Nathan Svare) Tenney of West Des Moines, IA; mother, Myrtle Tenney of Hutchinson, MN; mother and father-in-law, Rueben and Berniece Draeger of Hutchinson, MN; brothers, Brian Tenney of Dassel, MN and Jeff Tenney of Hector, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and DeLainDraeger of Waseca, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lee Tenney and a sister, Callaa Dolezal.
In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to the family.
