Karen Winscher

Karen Winscher, 68 year old resident of Buckman Township, Morrison County, MN died, Tuesday, June 16 at her home with her family by her side.A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Morrill, MN. The burial will be held in St. Johns Cemetery in Dixville. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 18 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN and from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of the service on Friday at the church in Morrill, MN.

Karen Mae Kloss was born April 30, 1947 in Little Falls, MN to Leonard and Genevieve (Nouis) Kloss.She attended St. Michaels Catholic School in Buckman, MN and graduated from Pierz High School. Karen was united in marriage to Delroy John Winscher on October 4th, 1969 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. The couple purchased and operated the 240 acre farm she was raised on. She spent a couple of years in the Twin Cities attending beauty school which was the only time in her life that she didnt live on the farm.Karen worked for a short time as a beautician until dairy farming became a full time priority where she worked alongside her husband tending the land, raising and milking cattle all while raising five children.In later years, she worked part-time at Horizon Health Care and the Old Creamery Caf in the catering division.Karen spent countless hours each season working in her flower gardens and maintaining her lawn to perfection. She also was an exceptional seamstress creating unique items ranging from window dressings, clothes, pillows, prom dresses, Halloween costumes and exquisite bridal gowns of which many were made with no pattern at all. Refinishing and reupholstering furniture was also a favorite pastime. She was always able to take something old and dingy and with creativity and tenacity was able to turn it into something beautiful that she would display in her home.Karen has always had a passion for lamps. She displayed many throughout her home that she had restored, topping each off with a stunning shade of her own design.Karen treasured her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Delroy Roy Winscher of Royalton, MN; children, Keith Winscher of Pierz, MN, Jeff Winscher of Pierz, MN, Curt (Peggy) Winscher of Royalton, MN and Robin Winscher of Royalton, MN; siblings, David (Diane) Kloss of Royalton, MN, Ronald (Audrey) Kloss of Royalton, MN, Paulette Kloss of Zimmerman, MN,Mary (Carl) Winscher of Royalton, MN,Denise (Jim) Guck of Rice, MN and Sandy Hanson of Cold Spring, MN;grandchildren, Bailey Winscher, Beau Winscher, Lucas Winscher, Madison Winscher, BillieMae Pohlkamp, Chase Pohlkamp and Carrisa Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Genevieve Kloss.
