Karel Barbara Kiley was born February 5, 1939 in Albert Lea, MN to the late Oscar "Ted" and Florence (Deeds) Dahl. She grew up in Albert Lea. She attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School with the Class of 1957. Following her schooling, Karel moved to Minneapolis where she worked for an insurance company. She was united in marriage to Delroy Kiley on July 2, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Karel and Delroy lived in Minneapolis until April of 1966 when they moved to Burtrum, MN. In 1968, the couple moved to the rural Upsala area. Karel worked for Mader Insurance in Holdingford, MN and operated "Granny's Lunch-n-Munch" wagon at local auctions for 14 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, fishing, going to fairs, watching the Minnesota Twins, and especially loved spending time with family and friends. Karel was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala. She is survived by her husband Delroy and sons, Mike Kiley & wife, Janice (Stueve) of Upsala, MN and John Kiley & wife, Mary (Lechner) of Sauk Rapids, MN; brother-in-law, Floyd Helland of Emmons, MN; six grandchildren, one and one half great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar "Ted" & Florence Dahl, twin sister, Karen "Dahl" Helland and an infant daughter. Casketbearers are Jason Kiley, Brian Kiley, Kevin Meagher, John Meagher, Kevin Hardy and Scott Schlangen.
