Joseph Albertson, 92 year old resident of Little Falls passed away on April 10 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls, surrounded by his loved ones. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Joseph was born on April 5, 1932 in Watertown, South Dakota to William and Veronica (Hayden) Albertson. He worked in the shipping department at Honeywell for 28 years. He married the love of his life, Norma Jean Rasinski on November 18, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954.
Joseph enjoyed bowling, playing poker, playing cards with family and was known as a pool shark. He loved modern, rock music from the 70’s and 80’s. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, the Twins and Yellowstone. Joseph was an avid reader, loved fast food, playing pull tabs and having “Yard Olympics” with the family. Early in life he and a good friend took a road trip on Route 66 to California. He enjoyed all the golf courses in the area including Oak Hill, Little Falls, Rice, Becker, Eagles Landing and Cold Spring and especially loved the family golf tournaments. Joseph was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Albertson of Little Falls; children, Richard (Brenda) of Big Lake, Mark (Joyce) of Pequot Lakes, Julie Albertson of Sauk Rapids, Carla (Kevin) Kroll of St. Stephen and Diane (Todd) Pelzer of Little Falls; sister, Mona Freden of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Richard Jr., Paul and Robert Albertson, Dustin, Megan and Benjamin Albertson, Tyler Kroll, Cody Pelzer and great-grandchildren, Lily, Mason, Landon, Triston and Damian Albertson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Veronica Albertson.
