John Wurzer

John J. Wurzer, age 83, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pierz, MN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) in Little Falls, MN. John Joseph Wurzer was born on February 12, 1924 on a farm southeast of Pierz, MN, the son of Frank & Mary (Motschke) Wurzer. He grew up on the farm and attended country school. He was united in marriage to Alma E. Gross on May 6, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. The couple made their home on the family farm southeast of Pierz where they farmed and lived for over 40 years. In 1987, they sold the farm and moved to Little Falls where John resided at the time of his death. John was proud of his farm and being a farmer. He considered it a job as well as a hobby. He also enjoyed tinkering with old machinery and old houses. Anyone who knew John also knew he loved to visit and always had a smile on his face. John was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alma; daughters, Sharon Wurzer of Little Falls and Colleen (James) Henry of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Owen (Victoria) Henry of Maple Grove, Anita (Chad) Kolstad of Monticello and Eric Henry of St. Cloud; great-grandchildren, Henry and Karalyn Kolstad and Olivia Henry; siblings, Regina Smude of Amarillo, TX, Irene Majerus of Little Falls, Lucy Kelzenberg of Pierz and Dennis Wurzer of St. Paul and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Mary (Motschke) Wurzer and siblings, Laura Przybilla, Reinhardt Wurzer and Ervin Wurzer. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
