John Richard Stavish

John R. Stavish, age 53 of Cushing, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at his home following a short battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, Minnesota with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be from 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. John Richard Stavish was born March 12, 1958, in Little Falls, Morrison County, Minnesota to Louise A. (Wippler) Stavish and the late Frank Stavish. He attended Little Falls High School graduating in 1976. He entered the United States Army in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 28, 1976 and received an honorable discharge at Fort Campbell, Texas on May 27, 1980. John then attended Central Lake College in Brainerd, Minnesota for welding and fabrication. John worked for Sanders Construction as a crusher operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. John was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Randall and a member of the Randall Volunteer Fire Department for ten years. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ben (Melanie) Stavish of Randall, Minnesota; daughter, Katie Stavish of Little Falls, Minnesota; mother, Louise Stavish of Randall, Minnesota; close friend, Patty Schultz of Cushing, Minnesota; siblings, Chuck Stavish and close friend, Char, of Randall, Minnesota, George (Chris) Stavish of Randall, Minnesota, David (Jane) Stavish of Cushing, Minnesota, Theresa (Bob) Hoffman of Pierz, Minnesota, Donald (Judy) Stavish of Randall, Minnesota, Martin Stavish & close friend, Linda, of Randall, Minnesota, Jerome (Kimberly) Stavish of Randall, Minnesota and Malinda (Richard) Heinz of Cushing, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jacob & Taelyn Stavish of Randall, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Stavish,sister-in-law, Darcia Stavish and his niece, Kasey Stavish. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Bates, Jessie Sanders, Todd Moffit and Kim Moffit.
