Joseph L. Renz, 68 year old resident of Brainerd, MN died Monday, June 21 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Grave Side services will be held Thursday, June 24 at 11:00 A.M. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery North of Little Falls, MN. Joseph L. Renz was born September 16, 1941 in Warren, Ohio to the late Joseph A. and Esther (Brinzer) Renz. He grew up in Findley, Ohio and graduated with the Class of 1956. Joseph attended Edison College in the Photography Department in Ft. Meyers, FL. He was in the United States Navy during Vietnam; he served on the Turner Joy. He was united in marriage to Margaret Elva Robertson on April 24, 1977 at the Bahia Honda Beach Park in the Florida Keys near Key West. Joseph worked as an outboard marine mechanic, boat salesman, motorcycle salesman. He owned and operated Capt. Joe's Pine Island Marine and RV Service and U-Haul rental in Florida. He had a love of travels and adventures from Louisiana, Florida Keys, Alaska and The Big Island of Hawaii. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting in Southwest, FL and Anchorage, AK, Lake Clark and Rainy Pass Lodge. He created and made the Excaliber fishing rods. He was active with the Boys Scouts and Capt. Caleb Radio Show on fishing. Joe and Elva's favorite sayings were "Yes Dear" and "I Hate It When Your Right". Joseph is survived by his wife, Margaret "Elva" Robertson of Brainerd, MN; daughters, Heather Renz of Maryville, TN, Angela Hall of Brandon, FL, Sheila Renz of Florida, Perdetta Renz of Florida and Lisa Ann Trujillo of Tennessee; two grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. (320) 632-4393.
