Joanne Morisette

Joanne Morisette, age 83, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Little Falls Care Center in Little Falls.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13th at Holy Family Catholic Church Belle Prairie north of Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating.Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12th at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by a Secular Franciscan Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 13th at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Joanne was born on April 15, 1931 in Polson, Montana the daughter of David & Adelaide (Gaboury) Morisette.Joanne grew up on a farm in the Fort Ripley area and graduated from Little Falls High School.Following her schooling she joined the Franciscan Sisters in Little Falls from 1949 to 1972.During this time she learned the x-ray technician trade and worked in that capacity in a number of Franciscan facilities in Minnesota.After leaving the Convent, she continued her work as an x-ray technician in Roseau, Sandstone, and Staples, MN, as well as the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.Following her retirement from her career, she settled in Fort Ripley in 1993 and then moved into Alverna Apartments in Little Falls in 2010.Due to her declining health she became a resident of the Little Falls Care Center in July of 2014.
Joanne enjoyed charity work, fishing, spending time with family, and a good, spirited conversation.She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie and the Secular Franciscan Sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Delores (Ray) Lukasik of Rockford, IL, Kay Farquharson of Falmouth, Jamacia, West Indies, David Morisette of Little Falls, MN and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, David & Adelaide (Gaboury) Morisette.
