Joane Liffrig

Joane Liffrig, age 65, of Elmdale, MN passed away on January 24, 2007 at St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale, with Fr. Dale Ettel officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 a" 9:00 p.m. at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Upsala, with Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9:30 a" 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN. Interment will be at the parish cemetery. Joane was born on September 28, 1941 in Pine Island, MN to Herbert & Amelia (Esser) Rau. She was united in marriage on August 6, 1960 to Richard Liffrig in Pine Island, MN. The couple lived in Minneapolis, Cambridge, Apple Valley and North Prairie, MN prior to moving in August of 1969 to the Elmdale/Bowlus area. Joane worked at Rochester Mayo in the Heart Lab from 1958 to 1959 and then the U of M Children's Heart Lab from 1960 to 1961. She volunteered for income tax preparation for the elderly and for Morrison County for single moms in crisis for several years. Joane's hobbies and activities included gardening, flowers (African Violets), horseback-riding, and riding motorcycles. She was on the Upsala School Board and was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. Joane is survived by her husband, Richard Liffrig; children, Ron (Mary) Liffrig of Prior Lake, MN, Rhonda (Joe) Pratt of Rice, MN, Reed Liffrig of St. Paul, MN,Lori Liffrig of Minnetonka, MN, Nicole (Sipho) Liffrig Molife of Alexandria, VA; brothers and sisters, Jack (Ardeth) of Oronoco, MN, Jerry (Diane) Rau of Elgin, MN, Tom (Marlene) Rau of Elgin, MN, Edward (Carol) of Sacramento, CA, Evelyn Stiller of Rochester, MN, Jean (Gary) Oelkers of Bella Vista, AK; sister-in-law, Judy Rau of New Market, MN; grandchildren, Andy, Eric, Ali & Bryn Liffrig, Kyle & Sami Pratt and Louis Molife. Joane was preceded in death by her son, Randall; parents, and brother, Arle Rau. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Scleroderma Foundation 300 Rosewood Dr. Suite 105, Danver, MA 01923.
