Joan Wenner, 87 year old resident of Royalton, passed away on Tuesday, August 20 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton with Father Greg Sauer officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23 from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of the service on Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to thank Diamond Willow Assisted Living, CHI Hospice and the folks from No One Dies Alone for the wonderful care provided to Joan.
Joan Wenner was born on January 25, 1937 in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County to the late Stanley and Bernice (Zylka) Witucki. She attended school in the Little Falls area as a young girl. As a young lady she worked at the Falls Theatre in Little Falls. On September 16, 1957, she married the love of her life, Leo Wenner in Fargo, North Dakota. The couple was blessed with five children, Leroy, Kevin, Gary, Cheryl and Renee. Joan worked for the United States Postal Service for several years in St. Cloud. She also worked for the EZ stop station in Royalton. Joan will be remembered as a hardworking and thoughtful gal! She helped several people throughout her life that needed a helping hand. Joan enjoyed trips to the casino, collection of Elvis memorabilia, garage saling, dancing, sewing and gardening. The holidays where always a special time for Joan to cook and bake homemade meals for her family.
Joan is survived by her; sons, Leroy (Renee) of Long Prairie, Kevin (Charmion) of Little Falls, Gary (Deb) of Royalton; daughters, Cheryl (Rob) Karnik of Sauk Rapids, Renee Dohs (Tom) of Marshall; sisters, Shirley (Lyle) Pugh of Little Falls and Karen Robinson of Little Falls; sisters-in-law, Audrey Witucki, Mary Witucki; grandchildren, Matthew (Crystal) Wenner, Michael (Amanda) Wenner, Kevin Wenner Jr. (Dee), Ashley Wenner (Tyler), Jeremy Karnik, Brittany Karnik (Zach), Kelsey Wenner, Kristina Dohs, Cody Dohs, Kayla Dohs; great grandchildren, Alexis, MaKenna, Reese, Emma and Lillie Wenner, Jacob Mead, Luca Wenner, Madelynn Hilmerson, Olivia Klaphake, Sophia Wagenbach, and Annabelle Klaphake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Bernice Witucki; husband, Leo Wenner; brothers, Lenny, Richard, Eugene, Jerome Witucki; sisters-in-law, Dorothy “Dottie” Witucki; brother-in-law, William Robinson; nephews, Dean Witucki and Daniel Haider and a niece, Julie Martinez .
