Joan Manlick

Joan M. Manlick, 73, of Oostburg, WI passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center in Sheboygan, WI, with her best friend, Carol, by her side.

A funeral service in Little Falls will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. At Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Joan was born September 9, 1941 in Little Falls, MN to John and Mayme (Garrison) Manlick. She was a 1960 graduate from Little Falls High School. After high school she worked in the health care industry in a variety of capacities. She worked 30 years at Columbia St. Marys in Milwaukee until her retirement in 2007.

Joan was a member of the First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Brewer and Vikings fan, enjoyed playing computer games and loved spending time with her family and friends. Joan was a people person and made friends easily. Her kind spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Joan is survived by her 3 sisters, Deb Manlick, Diane (Jim) Balaski both of Little Falls, MN and Betty (John) Pfelpson of Brainard, MN; her adopted sister, Carol Smies of Oostburg and her family. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Mary McNeese and Judy Shinabarger.

A funeral service to celebrate Joans life will be on Monday January 5, 2015 at 11am at the First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Todd Smith officiating.

Relatives and friends may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 4-7pm and again at CHURCH on Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 11am.

A memorial fund to the VFW in Joans name is being established.
