Jerome "Jerry" Kroll

Jerome Jerry Kroll, age 89, of Royalton, MN, died Thursday, January 7, 2016, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Roger Classen officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with Military Honors by the Minnesota Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13th at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to Mass.

There will be a parish prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jerome Jerry Anthony Kroll was born on September 2, 1926, in Bellevue Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the son of Joseph Elizabeth (Klisch) Kroll. He graduated from Royalton High School in 1945. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Army on August 6, 1945 and served overseas in Austria. He was honorably discharged on February 8, 1947. Upon returning from his military service, he lived in Minneapolis until the mid 1960s when he moved to a farm in Bellevue Township where he grew up. While living in Minneapolis, he worked at a textile company and then as a facilities maintenance manager at Bell Telephone in Little Falls until his retirement. Jerry enjoyed fishing, driving his pickup truck, gardening, eating out, listening to old time and classical music and occasional trips to the casino. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, James (Marcy) Kroll of Little Falls, MN, and Gilbert (Fe) Kroll of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law, Louise Kroll of Coon Rapids, MN; and nieces and nephews.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Elizabeth (Klisch) Kroll; sisters, Ann Kraus and Rita Kroll; infant sister, Irene Kroll; brother, Lawrence Kroll; and brother-in-law, Albert Kraus.
