Jerome OBrien, age 95, of Duluth, MN, formerly of Little Falls, MN, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, in Duluth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating.Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18th at the church.
Jerome O'Brien was born April 9, 1919 to Harold and Rose (Vanselow) O'Brien in St. Paul, MN.
He attended schools in St. Cloud.He entered the military service in January, 1942 and was discharged in December, 1945.He served in the European Theater during WWII.
He worked for Nash Finch in St. Cloud and then for Raymond Bros. Trucking and Hyman Freightways.He was a truck driver for 35 years.
Jerome married Margaret Schmidt April 19, 1944 in St. Cloud.She died December 16, 1957.On August 6, 1960, he married Clara Richter at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Little Falls.Clara passed away on September 12, 2004.He was a member of the church and a Lector for 15 years.
He was a life member of the VFW and served in various capacities including Commander of the Little Falls Post.
Jerome was an avid birdwatcher and interested in current news both local and national; and he loved to read the papers.
He is survived by sons: Michael (Kay) of Apple Valley, Dennis (Nancy) of St. Paul, Thomas (Patricia) of Duluth, Patrick (Maria) of Fairfax Station, Virginia, and Vincent (Amy) of Hastings; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Morrison County Food Shelf.
