Jean Kane Eckstrom

Jean M. (Kane) Eckstrom, age 80, of Rogers, MN, formerly of Pierz, MN, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at her residence in The Wellstead of Rogers.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service, 900 1st Street SE in Little Falls with visitation two hours prior to the service.

A private burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls.

Jean Marie Hyde was born on November 29, 1933 in Onida, South Dakota, to Frank & Rhoda (Weber) Hyde.She graduated from Onida High School and married Francis Kane in 1951.She moved to the Kane ranch near Agar and started a family, eventually moving with Francis and six children to Pierz, MN in 1960.Jean loved singing and was a member of the church choir and an officer of the Legion Auxiliary for many years.She worked at Hartmans Department Store in the clothing department for 16 years.In 1987, she married William Bill Eckstrom.They resided first on a farm near Milaca, then a cabin on Portage Lake near Brainerd and eventually moved back to the Pierz area in 2003.They enjoyed many happy years together and shared the hobby of auctions and refinishing antiques.Jean also enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, crossword puzzles and gardening.

Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Michael Kane, Linda Kane (Ray Langer), Steve (Nancy) Kane, John (Marge) Kane, Theresa (John) Kornberg, Martin Kane, and Robert (Marnie) Kane; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack, Owen, and Kent Hyde; Bills daughters, Belinda (Roger) Barnhill, Elaine Eckstrom, and Kim (Tim) Dorholt and their families.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Rhoda (Weber) Hyde; husband, William Eckstrom (January 27, 2006); brothers, Neil and Mark Hyde.
