Jay Hoglin, 60 year old resident of Cushing, MN died Saturday, December 11 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15 at 1:00 P.M. at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with Chaplain Greggery Valentine officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster, MN. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 12:00-1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Jay Vaughn Hoglin was born August 14, 1950 in Hallock, MN to John A. and Gertrude (Turner) Hoglin. He graduated from Humboldt High School in Humboldt, MN in 1968. Jay attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He completed his degree in Education and taught for one year in St. Michael, MN. He moved to Little Falls, MN in 1975, where he taught mathematics at the Little Falls Middle School for several years. Jay was an excellent teacher and extremely patient with his students. After retiring from teaching, Jay enjoyed working with computers and teaching others about them. He enjoyed nature and observing its beauty. He would call his mother several times just to tell her about his experiences with nature and it was always something new. Jay enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his, Harley Davidson. His latest passion was his garden that he enjoyed with Mary Ann. Jay was a very competitive person and had a love for teaching even after he left the classroom. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gertrude Hoglin of Roseau, MN; significant other, Mary Ann Susalski of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Adele Hoglin and husband, Jim Goodman of Falcon Heights, MN, Andrea Bailey of Villard, MN; nephews, Jayme Hoglin, Cavin Bailey, Lance Bailey and Tanner Bailey; great-nephews, Brandon Hoglin, Callum Bailey, Jett Bailey, Jude Bailey and great-niece, Makayla Hoglin. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hoglin. Casket Bearers will be: Jayme Hoglin, Cabin Bailey, Lance Bailey, Tanner Bailey, Jim Goodman and Guy Getschel.
