Janet "Jan" Kieffer Janet "Jan" Kieffer, 65 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Monday, September 14 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, September 18 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Robert Kieffer officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Janet Lena Vold was born November 25, 1943 in Graceville, MN to the late Hans and Muriel (Haney) Vold. She lived in the Graceville area with her family and graduated from Graceville High School. She attended the University of Minnesota Morris for two years. Jan worked in Morris, MN at KMRS AM radio station for six years. Jan was united in marriage to Karl Kieffer on September 14, 1963 in Collis, MN. She worked at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN from 1980 until 1982 in the Admission's Department. In 1982, she attended St. Cloud Beauty College. After receiving her diploma Jan owned and operated Head First Hair Styling in Little Falls, MN for 25 years and Head First Hair Styling in the Crossroads Center in St. Cloud, MN for 15 years. She enjoyed attending conventions with her daughters. Jan will be remembered and treasured for her laugh. She enjoyed attending community plays musicals and she was an avid reader. She treasured her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization). Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Karl Kieffer, of Little Falls, MN; children, Kristina Kay Banick and husband, Jeff, of Little Falls, MN, Kimberly Jan Lyon and husband, Steven, of Layton, UT, Kari Anna Forthun and husband, Kip, of Sartell, MN, Kyle Kieffer of Little Falls, MN and Kelsey Marie Caauwe and husband, Jason, of Sauk Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Aria and Zachary Flatau, Jorah and Ezra Forthun, Kyra and Aubree Caauwe; siblings, Irvin Vold and wife, Dorothy, of Dumont, MN and Richard Vold and wife, Irene, of Graceville, MN and nieces, nephews, friends and clients. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Muriel (Haney) Vold; siblings, Robert and Kenneth Vold.
