James Jim E. Hoheisel 73-year-old resident of Hillman, MN passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 13 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Buckman, MN with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday evening at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz and also, Thursday morning prior to the service, from 9-10 AM at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Jim was born on November 10, 1942 in Hillman Township, MN to Joseph and Bernice (Schubert) Hoheisel. He attended grade school in Buckman, MN and high school at Pierz Memorial High School. Jim served in the US Army from 1961- 1967. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Jet DeBerry on September 26, 1964 in Oxnard, California. Jim worked for Poole Oil Company in California before moving back to Minnesota where he took over the family farm, residing there until his death. He bowled every season for over 30 years, saying every year that he wasnt coming back for next season. He enjoyed farming, deer hunting, watching football, and spending time at the casino. Jim was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children, Mickey (Scott) Theede of Hillman, MN, Tracy (Shawn) Smart of Crosslake, MN, Casey (Howard Popp) Hoheisel of Rice, MN, Dawn (Wade Lund) Lesch of Pierz, MN, Matt (Katie) Hoheisel of Hillman, MN; sister, Diane Gall of Little Falls, MN; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Jet Hoheisel; parents, Joseph and Bernice Hoheisel; sister, Lois Gammon; great-granddaughter, Mya Hoheisel; and nephew, Kevin Gammon.
