James Leonard Gohl, AKA Chubby, 64 of Rice, MN passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 15th, at the St Cloud Hospital.
Jim was born on February 3, 1955 in Little Falls, MN to Leonard and Leona (Raatz) Gohl. He grew up in Little Falls, graduating class of 1973. On October 3, 1987, he married the love of his life, Diane Howe. Jim was employed at Astech Construction for 46years as a heavy equipment operator.
Jim was an avid sportsman enjoying deer hunting, fishing, camping, horseshoes, bowling and many other activities. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, having recently attended NASCAR races in Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane; Children, Nathan (Stacey) of Rice, Niki (Kevin) White of Zimmerman; Grandchildren, Dylan, Sullivan, Hayli, Alex, Kyle and Jesse; Siblings, Arlene (Jerry) Waldvogel of Little Falls, Jerome Gohl of Little Falls, Deloria (Ron) Brewer of Montana; Mother-in-law, Ellen Howe of Sartell; Brother and Sister-in-law, Darwin (Nancy) Howe of St. Cloud, Cheryl (David) Johnson of Princeton and many nephews and nieces.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Leonard and Leona Gohl, Sister-in-law, Valerie Gohl and Father-in-law, Bert Howe.
A memorial service will be held at the Living Waters Lutheran Church, 1911 N. 4th Ave, Sauk Rapids on Feb. 22nd at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, Lunch will follow. Private internment will be held at a later date.
