James "Jimmy" Jarvis, 62 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls. A graveside service will be held 2 PM Wed. April 29th at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery in Little Falls. Jim was born November 5, 1946 in Morrison County, MN to the late Bud and Ila (Garin) Jarvis. He resided in Little Falls until the time of his death. Jim was an avid outdoorsman. His favorite pastimes included, trout fishing, picking agates and cooking a great meal. Jim accomplished many things, including designing and manufacturing wooden crank bates published in Folk Art Fish Decoys. He also found the world record Lake Superior Agate (weighing in at a whopping 182 pounds). Jim will always be remembered for his gift to gab and his big heart. Jim is survived by his children, Mark Jarvis of Little Falls, MN, Eric Jarvis of Little Falls, MN, Mandy Jarvis of Greenwood, S.C. and Nick Jarvis of Rochester, MN; brothers and sisters, Randy (Dorinda) Jarvis of Superior, WI, Gary (Karen) Jarvis of Little Falls, MN, Doug (Donna) Jarvis of Cushing, MN, Kathy Jenks of Little Falls, MN, Cheryl (Sid) Olson of Garrison, MN and Laree (Mark) Allen of Spanish Fork UT; six grandchildren and his loving girlfriend, Lois Kimball of Little Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ila (Garin) Jarvis.
